In the very short time that the girls squad have been in existence they have shocked and stunned everyone with their focus, determination and willingness to learn and develop.
The latest chapter in their remarkable success came today at The Greater Manchester School Games held at the Wright Robinson Sports College in Manchester.
The school Games competition is open to all schools in Greater Manchester, however they must qualify through their Local SGO area heats in order to progress to the County Final, which the Girls did at an earlier Tournament.
So, the girls were in a competition with all the winning teams from across the Greater Manchester Area.
Miss Rippon very kindly volunteered to manage the squad, she took all 13 girls in Year 5, on the day as I was busy managing the pupils with the MUFC Coaches that were at school for the day.
I don’t know how many games the Girls played, or who scored the goals, but I do know from the very excited squad that came back to school that we made it into the final, playing against the holders from Bury, it went to penalties, Francessca Porter was in Goal, she saved one and scored one, and we won.
Well done everyone!
